Plantar Fasciitis

What is Plantar Fasciitis ?

Plantar fasciitis is one of the most common heel/foot problems treated by Canadian Pedorthists. Millions of people across North America suffer from heel pain – a condition we call plantar fasciitis. Do you suffer from heel pain when you get out of bed in the mornings? Do you get heel pain after sitting for an extended period of time ?  The pain is caused by inflammation in our plantar fascia. our plantar fascia is a fibrous band of tissue that spans the bottom of the foot and connects the heel bone to each of our toes. Plantar fasciitis is caused by poor mobility and strength of our lower limb bones. it can also be caused by local trauma ( injuries), weight gain, or changes in activity patterns.

If you do have heel pain the best thing to do is get diagnosed. You don’t have to live with your heel pain. Book an appointment with a Certified Canadian Pedorthist. A pedothrist will assess your foot and determine whether a custom made foot Orthotic can help alleviate your condition.

Once in touch with a pedorthist, we can suggest the most effective treatment options for your specific condition. Remember for foot pain the healing process can take longer. However, when you do have foot pain, seeking help sooner will speed up your recovery. the longer you wait to help the pain, the longer it will take to heal. If you have had heel pain for a long time, it could take weeks or months to recover.

A Certified Canadian Pedorthist is a trained orthotics and footwear expert. Pedorthists are one of the few healthcare professionals that are actually trained in the assessment of lower limb anatomy and bio mechanics. they have specialized training and education in designing, manufacture, fit and modifications of foot wear and foot orthotics. A pedorthist is trained to help alleviate pain and debilitating conditions of your lower limbs and feet.
